It usually also includes a statement regarding the website’s commitment to protecting its visitors’ or customers’ privacy, and an explanation about the different mechanisms the website is implementing in order to protect privacy. 

 

Different jurisdictions have different legal obligations of what must be included in a Privacy Policy. You are responsible to make sure you are following the relevant legislation to your activities and location.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN THE PRIVACY POLICY

Generally speaking, a Privacy Policy often addresses these types of issues: the types of information the website is collecting and the manner in which it collects the data; an explanation about why is the website collecting these types of information; what are the website’s practices on sharing the information with third parties; ways in which your visitors an customers can exercise their rights according to the relevant privacy legislation; the specific practices regarding minors’ data collection; and much much more.

We may share your personal information with third party companies and individuals that provide services on our behalf or help us operate the Service (such as professional advisors, customer support, hosting, analytics, email delivery, marketing, and database management services). We may also share your personal information for compliance purposes.

We also collect, use and share aggregated data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated data can be derived from your Personal Information but it is not considered Personal Information as it cannot be used to directly or indirectly identify you. 

Automatically Collected Information    
We use information we have automatically collected from you to report aggregated activity on the Websites and to better understand the needs of our users so we can make informed decisions regarding the content and design of the Websites. We may also use this such information to personalize your experience on the Websites. We may also share information we automatically collect from you with third parties. 

INFORMATION SECURITY

We employ a number of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Websites, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. DATA RETENTION

Prologis strives to retain Personal Information for no longer than is reasonably necessary for its processing purpose. The applicable retention period depends on the purpose for which Personal Information was obtained and on specific data retention obligations arising from applicable laws that may require the data to be held for a certain period of time.

We may retain Personal Information for a longer period than is necessary for its processing purpose in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect of our relationship with you. In some circumstances, for research or statistical purposes (including the generation of aggregate statistical studies), we will anonymize your Personal Information, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you. 

DO NOT TRACK

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

We do not seek to nor knowingly collect or maintain information from those under the age of 18. No part of the Websites is structured to attract anyone under 18 and in fact under the Terms of Use, you must be 18 years or older to use the Websites. By using the Websites, you represent that you are not under 18 years of age. If a child has provided us with Personal Information, a parent or guardian of that child may contact us to have the information deleted from our records. 

HOW TO OPT OUT OF EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS

If you provide your email address to Prologis, Prologis may send you product emails (e.g., e-newsletters) from time to time. If you do not wish to receive the particular product email, you may opt out of future emails regarding that product by following the opt-out instructions in the email.

Opt-out requests are specific to particular products. If, for example, you unsubscribe from one Prologis e-newsletter, you may still receive emails from us regarding other products, such as webinars or requests to complete surveys, all relating to Prologis. Note that you cannot opt out of receiving required administrative or legal communications.

Opt-out requests will be effective after a reasonable period of time for processing but in no event longer than such time as may be required by applicable law.
